The Klein Law Firm announces that a class action complaint has been filed on behalf of shareholders of Emergent Biosolutions Inc. (NYSE: EBS) who purchased shares between April 24, 2020 and April 16, 2021. The action, which was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, alleges that the Company violated federal securities laws.
In particular, the Emergent Bio lawsuit alleges that (i) Emergent’s Baltimore plant had a history of manufacturing issues increasing the likelihood for massive contaminations; (ii) these longstanding contamination risks and quality control issues at Emergent’s facility led to a string of FDA citations; (iii) the Company previously had to discard the equivalent of millions of doses of COVID-19 vaccines after workers at the Baltimore plant deviated from manufacturing standards; and (iv) as a result of the foregoing, Defendants’ public statements about Emergent’s ability and capacity to mass manufacture multiple COVID-19 vaccines at its Baltimore manufacturing site were materially false and/or misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis.
Shareholders have until June 21, 2021 to petition the court for lead plaintiff status. Your ability to share in any recovery does not require that you serve as lead plaintiff. You may choose to be an absent class member.
